ComponentArt Grid has been designed from the ground up to offer the richest support for AJAX features. By simply setting the RunningMode property to Callback, all paging, sorting, filtering, grouping, and editing will be performed through AJAX callbacks - without reloading the entire page. In order to provide the richest, fastest, and most efficient callback response possible, ComponentArt has introduced an important innovative client-side templating technology.
Unlike other AJAX callback implementations, ComponentArt Grid doesn't send HTML markup content as a response, but strictly data, which is then bound to the template on the client in order to provide fully customizable user interface with minimal footprint. Another important aspect of ComponentArt's callback implementation is that the Grid state is persisted after ASP.NET postbacks. This means that all Grid items retain their selected and checked states, and that data doesn't need to be rebound on postback.
